ABOUT
At McMullen Health Care, we meet children and teens exactly where they are. Whether you are seeking a one-time appointment or ongoing support, our practice allows you to create an individualized care plan tailored to fit your child’s needs.
We are a comprehensive pediatric mental, behavioral, and general health practice serving children and young adults from birth through age 21. While our primary focus is mental and behavioral wellness, families also have the option to discuss general health questions and concerns - ensuring your child receives well-rounded, continuous support in a single trusted space.
Our approach is family-centered and holistic. We look at the full picture — physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health — to help each child build confidence, resilience, and the tools they need to thrive. The goal is simple: to support a happy, healthy childhood and guide every child toward a strong and fulfilling future.
Conditions and Concerns We Commonly Support
-
We evaluate attention, focus, hyperactivity, and behavioral patterns to determine whether ADHD or ADD may be impacting your child's daily life. Our treatment plans can include skill-building techniques, school accommodations guidance, behavioral strategies, and medication management — all tailored to support academic, social, and emotional success.
-
We help children and teens understand what anxiety feels like, what triggers it, and how to manage it in real time. Care plans often include coping strategies, emotional regulation tools, and ongoing support to help kids feel more in control and less overwhelmed by day-to-day stressors.
-
We support children across the autism spectrum by identifying strengths, challenges, and unique needs. Our approach may include communication support, social skills development, sensory regulation strategies, behavioral therapy, and guidance for parents navigating school and community resources
-
Depression can look different in every child. We work closely with families to identify symptoms such as sadness, irritability, withdrawal, or changes in sleep and appetite. Treatment may include therapy, mindfulness strategies, lifestyle adjustments, and, when appropriate, medication management to help children feel more like themselves again.
-
Early intervention matters. We assess developmental milestones, learning differences, social interactions, and behavior patterns to create a supportive plan that helps children build essential skills and meet age-appropriate expectations. We work hand-in-hand with parents to create practical strategies for home and school.
-
From sleep and nutrition to growth concerns and everyday symptoms, families can bring general health questions to us for guidance. We offer accessible, continuity-based care so you can discuss both physical and mental health needs with a provider you trust.
-
Some children experience tics without meeting the criteria for Tourette’s. We evaluate the type, frequency, and triggers and provide individualized strategies, therapy options, and monitoring to help reduce discomfort and increase confidence.
-
Tourette’s involves involuntary movements or sounds called tics. We help children understand their tics, learn strategies to reduce tic severity or frequency, and navigate emotional or social challenges that may come with the condition. Families receive guidance and support at every step.
